RPP3: Daily Dev Blog Post 14
Welcome to day 14!
Tomorrow we present the final version of our game to our class! The original goal this RPP was to challenge ourselves to complete certain tasks to earn x amount of points. 7 was thought to be a good number, so we originally pulled the following tasks to take on:
Demo using a guinea pig (selected by A-Team) 5 Points
Blog a daily dev diary of your progress 3 Points
Hold daily standup meetings in person (on weekdays) 2 Points
Make a detailed schedule and report on progress 1 Point
Get all team members to fully use Perforce 1 Point
Get all team members to fully use a task tracker 2 Point
Avoid an all-nighter (no one at any time) 2 Point
Plan a team-building outing (not just a meal) 1 Point
Unfortunately, we weren't able to meet in person daily or take part in a team building outing due to our conflicting schedules. We also won't be able to pull someone from outside our cohort to help us demo the game tomorrow, as it's important for one of our programmers to play through the game to show off its features properly. Even without that we've still been able to accomplish all the other tasks for a point total of NINE! Whooo!
See you tomorrow for our final daily dev update!
Today's bonus content is a peek at our "detailed schedule" that I created with John Thomas Lascha! It's a simple excel sheet that details group tasks and meetings as well as individual tasks! A document like this is under constant construction, but this is what it looked like when we were just starting out! What a nice throwback now that we've come so far.
